Welcome to the online home of the Gauteng Fencing Association (GFA). GFA is the official provincial governing body for the sport of fencing in the province. The association is affiliated with the South African Amateur Fencing Association (SAAFA) which in turn is affiliated to both the South African Sports Commission and Olympic Committee (Sascoc) as well as the International Fencing Federation (FIE). Our fencers compete on provincial, national and international level and Gauteng had 5 fencers who competed in the 2008
Beijing Olympic Games.

The aim of this site is to provide up-to-date information to all fencers in Gauteng, as well as to people who might be interested in the sport of fencing. Since the optimal functioning of the association is completely dependent on the generous time given by fencers and other supporters of the sport, any suggestions and contributions is more than welcome.

Hope to see you on the piste!

Regards

Gauteng Fencing Association
