Dear Fencers

Further to our last correspondence concerning concerning the use of Foil Mask visors we have been in contact with Leon Paul Equipment and the Head Coach of Johannesburg HPC seeking some clarity on the FIE decision to suspend the use of the visor at the forthcoming Italian A Grade tournament . There is a strong feeling that this decision will be reversed once the official report on the incident that lead to this decision is released . The situation in the UK is that visors can still be used as long as the outer scratch proof protective layer is used . The GFA committee has therefore decided to leave the status quo ( ie visors can be used ) at GFA tournaments until further notice . Please note that this only applies to GFA tournaments . SAAFA will have to take a decision in due course on the use of visors at the National Tournaments.
